Ministerial Services by Jacquie I have always been spiritually in touch with God. There wasn't a time when I didn't feel God's hand in my life, or guiding my path. From the time I was a young girl, God has spoken to me in many ways. I have studied many spiritual masters and have been a part of many churches and faiths to learn many ways of better knowing God. I think that God speaks to each of us directly and we never lose the chance to get to know God, personally. I currently am a member of The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany and also on 9-11-2001 became a Reiki Master and an Ordained Minister of the Universal Life Church. I believe each of us are on our own personal, spiritual quest and must go in the direction that we feel led--that is what I have done and continue to do in my life. As a young girl, I grew up around funeral homes as my mother was a life insurance agent affiliated with a few funeral homes in my home town. My best friend, who is now a Funeral Director herself, and I, spent many hours in the funeral home in which my mother worked at night after my father died, so she would not be home alone--and my friend and I would share the evening with her. A close family friend managed this funeral home and this way of life has always been a part of my life. In February of 2005, my half-sisters' mother died. Ms. Idamae was like a second mother to me. She had been a part of my life ALL of my life and was a very spiritual person. I didn't know many people who were more spiritual than she, and yet, because she did not ACTIVELY participate in a church, she did not have the ability to call on her priest or minister to come and preside over her services. In my sisters' anguish I felt that it was SO unfair for someone who knew God so well to not be able to have the ability to have a 'proper' funeral service in the Chapel of the Funeral Home. Luckily, at the last minute a deacon was found and he, and many people participated to help make her service one of the most beautiful I had ever experienced. I felt lucky to be there--AND felt inspired to do something for others whose families may be faced with the same situation! THAT day the desire to provide Ministerial Services to others was born.... As my mother, Agnes, used tell me, God is everywhere...and when we would discuss various religions and why things were so different, etc., she would say, "We all pray to the same God..." And as a mentor of mine Wayne Dyer says, "No matter WHAT you call God--Spirit, Allah, Budda, etc.--He is STILL God." Jesus says to his disciples in John
14: Therefore, I am trying to do the will of the Father... Thank you Jesus for the ability to do so... Amen In many of traditional services of the past, the medicine people or shamans would lead these rituals, Like priests, rabbis, or ministers of today. These people have always been the community's link between the tangible human world and the mysterious spiritual world... Take a look at some of my services below for details of each: Funeral or Memorial Services Held in Chapels or other places (other than churches, as typically the minister of that church will be presiding over that service.) Remember, the passing of someone doesn't have to be an entirely sad occasion. Their life should be celebrated! Wear bright colors, share stories, play their favorite music--EMBRACE their life. I would love to be a part of this celebration of life! End of a Pregnancy Ceremony There may come a time in some families where there is an end to a pregnancy. We don't always know the reasons for this--why God has called the Spirit of our beloved baby home. This life--even though this precious life never walked the earth, we can still celebrate this life by naming the child and sharing the prayers to guide this little Spirit home with a beautiful candle ceremony. Healing can then begin with everyone. Pet Funeral Services For so many, myself included, family-members of the 4-legged kind are no less loved or admired... Baby Naming Ceremony, Blessings and Dedications Adult Blessing Ceremonies Rite of Passage Ceremonies: The Consecration of Adulthood This ceremony is provided to children on or around their 13 birthday, and on their 18th birthday is the 13th birthday was missed. This ceremony is a rite of passage ceremony to bless the child/young adult is available to provide spiritual transition from childhood to adulthood. This ceremony can range from a small informal, intimate gathering to a larger ceremony prior to a birthday celebration. Typically those persons who have been instrumental in helping this child grown into adulthood are present to speak to the young adult their prayers, wishes, dreams and blessings so that the young adult will know that their passage to a new stage in their life will not leave them without guidance and blessings... Union Ceremonies Typical of Marriage Ceremonies, these Ceremonies are typically held for those who cannot be married or do not want to be married, but want to bless their union and celebrate it non-the-less. These celebrations can be simple to extravagant and I will be happy to help you plan yours. House Blessings Office or New Business Blessings Mid-Life Ceremonies These ceremonies are typically held for women who transition from the fertile young woman to the wise person we are becoming. In this ceremony we surround our self with those women who help to support us daily and who will help to see us through this new phase of our life. A joint ceremony can be held for more than one person and is wonderful to do around 40th birthdays. The celebrated person(s) should prepare, prior to the ceremony, a letter to the group/world which describes her history. It is important to share times that should be forgiven and 'let-go' so that healing can take place. Also, she can include offers for her continued service to humanity... This ceremony is a beautiful way for her to claim the full blessings of her life and maturity and plan for the long life ahead to share with others the value of her experiences. We, as the wise woman elders should help to counsel others behind us on the path... Empty-Nest Ceremonies This ceremony is a beautiful gathering of friends who support the person who has lost the last of her babies to the world. Knowing there is a mix of emotions that can come with this life experience, mothers usually try to hide behind the light-hearted emotions of how happy they are they no more clothes will have to be washed, etc. and save the tears for the hidden quiet of their hearts or bath tubs... This ceremonial gathering celebrates past experiences, growth, accomplishments of the family with a ceremonial artifact... this is a fun and touching gathering! Healing Request Ceremonies As a Reiki Master, I know the value and benefit of a healing touch, prayer and the joy and importance of surrounding yourself with positive, healing energy. Most of these ceremonies can be centered around a gathering of friends with a traditional party and can be as elaborate or under-stated and intimate as you choose. My fee to preside/guide these ceremonies is strictly a donation. I do not have to be present after the ceremony itself, and would not be offended to be asked to leave after its conclusion. I am blessed to be able to participate in such an important event...
